NETWORK IS SELECTED AS A CRYSTAL CHARITY BALL RECIPIENT

February 13, 2009-NETWORK of Community Ministries has been selected as a 2009 beneficiary of the Crystal Charity Ball. The Crystal Charity Ball award is for $400,000 over three years for our Adolescent and Children’s Clinic and Emergency Services.  NETWORK is one of seven children’s programs chosen by the Crystal Charity Ball Committee at its general membership meeting in the beginning of February.

Since 1952, the sole purpose of The Crystal Charity Ball has been to aid, support and make contributions to the children’s charities in Dallas County.  As a nonprofit organization, independent of any national affiliation, members of The Crystal Charity Ball Committee have raised more than $90 million since the organization was founded in 1952.

“Being selected by the Crystal Charity Ball into the 2009 class of beneficiaries is truly a privilege and a significant turning point in our five year strategic plan” remarked Alice Mae Britt, NETWORK CEO.   “The commitment of the Crystal Charity Ball to our mission will allow NETWORK to continue making unprecedented strides for our neighbors in need.”

During the three year award period the Adolescent and Children’s Clinic will receive $40,975 yearly to purchase prescriptions, medical supplies, and support general operations.  Emergency Services will receive $92,358 per year to feed children, purchase milk, provide bilingual nutrition education, and to support the Big Meals for Little Kids summer program.

Other 2009 beneficiaries include: Baylor Health care Foundation, Community Partners of Dallas, Interfaith Housing Coalition, Phoenix House of Texas, Reconciliation Outreach Ministries, and Texas A & M Health Science Center/Baylor College of Dentistry. The 2009 Crystal Charity Ball will be December 5, 2009. For more information visit www.crystalcharityball.org
