NETWORK - NEWSNETWORK SELECTED AS CERTIFYING ORGANIZATION FOR NATIONAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAMJuly 3, 2009-NETWORK received notice that it will begin recognizing the impact of volunteerism across the nation as a Certifying Organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award, a program created by former President George W. Bush to recognize individuals, families and groups who meet the award’s requirements for volunteer service. In Richardson, NETWORK joins Richland College as one of thousands of organizations nationwide selected to serve as a Certifying Organization for the award. In that role, NETWORK is responsible for verifying service hours, nominating potential recipients and delivering the awards on behalf of the current U. S. President. “NETWORK is a legend in the local volunteerism arena," stated E. A. McDowell, President of the Network Board of Directors. "Thus, it is so appropriate that this program would give our organization such a national distinction and amazing responsibility."
