Originally from the Greater Pittsburgh area Shafer leverages 17 years of local and national non-profit experience to deliver measurable outcomes in mission execution, donor development, and community engagement. In her past Executive Director roles, Shafer has maximized top- and- bottom-line growth with a keen eye for cost management and proper allocation of resources. Prior to NETWORK Shafer served as the Vice President of Development for Christian Community Action in Lewisville, one of the largest nonprofits in North Texas providing rescue and restorative services to the poor and vulnerable. Shafer provided strategic leadership to a development and marketing team of 8 and was responsible for raising $2.1 million annually. Shafer provided the oversight for recruitment, training and retention of 2500 volunteers and was an integral member of the Executive Team leading the organization through a significant shift in fundraising and service models. Shafer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Grove City College and a Master of Science degree in Professional Leadership & Nonprofit Management from Carlow University. She resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area with her husband and daughter.
Kaylan VanPelt is the Emergency Services Coordinator at NETWORK. Although Kaylan grew up in the Garland-area, she has moved around for the past six years while pursuing her education. She recently came back to Texas after living in Denver for 3 years, where she received a Master of International Human Rights from the University of Denver. Kaylan has worked in a variety of nonprofit organizations, settings, and roles. She is deeply passionate about poverty alleviation and has a heart for serving those in need. Kaylan and her husband are high-school-sweethearts, and they enjoy spending time with their herd of six “furry children” (two dogs, two bunnies, a cat, and a rat)!
Sheri Harden is the Accountant/Bookkeeper for Network, and she has over 24 years of experience in nonprofit and corporate accounting. A certified public accountant, Harden began her career as a staff accountant with National Heritage, Inc. in Dallas, followed by an Accounting Manager’s role at Family Hospice, Inc. also in Dallas. While in that financial capacity, Harden dually worked as a Seasonal Accountant for Ragin’ Cajun Foods, Inc. in Beaumont, Texas. Recently, Harden was the Accountant for Phoenix House in Dallas and remains active in independent financial consulting. Harden holds a B.B.A in Accounting from Lamar University; is an active volunteer with community and religious affiliations; and resides in Richardson with her husband and three wonderful children.
Having recently relocated from San Diego, Rebecca is happy to be back in Texas and brings with her years of nonprofit fundraising experience. With a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Rebecca began her career as a grant writer and has since held fundraising positions for a variety of needs based organizations. Recently, Rebecca served as the Annual Fund Manager at Serving Seniors, a needs based organization in San Diego where she managed the Annual Giving Program, Grant Program, as well as headed the Monthly and Heroes Circle Giving Program. She joins Network as a contract employee from Paladin. In her new role as Network’s Fundraising Director Rebecca will lead revenue generation, enhance donor relations, and increase awareness of Network’s programs and services to the community at large. Rebecca holds an M.S. in Urban Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso. Rebecca resides in Plano with her husband, two children, and Welshie named Rico.

Dr. Reese Mathieu
Director of Network Adolescent’s & Children’s Clinic
Dr. Reese Mathieu is the volunteer Director our Adolescent and Children’s Clinic, and he has been practicing pediatrics in Richardson for over 25 years. Dr. Mathieu has been volunteering at Network’s children’s clinic since its inception back in 1992. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Math, 1974 and later finished UT Southwestern, acquiring his M.D. in 1978. Dr. Mathieu did his residency at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, 1978-1981 and entered private practice in pediatrics in 1981. He holds membership in American Academy of Pediatrics, the Dallas County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Mathieu was Chairman of Department of Pediatrics for Richardson Regional Medical Center 1983, 1995, 2002. He remains, since 1993, a medical consultant of early childhood Intervention and since 1981 a clinical faculty member at Children’s Medical Center, Dallas.

Dr. Crosby has been in practice in Richardson for more than 20 years. After graduating from the University of Texas in Austin, he went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Science degree from Baylor University, and then to receive his post-doctoral certification in orthodontics from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Dr. Crosby has published several articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics and the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, and is board-certified with the American Board of Orthodontics. Professional associations include: Volunteer with the Dallas County Community Dental Program, Dallas County Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, Greater Dallas Association of Orthodontics, the American Board of Orthodontics, Texas Dental Association, and the Texas Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Mark Denny

Dr. Mark Denny has practiced in Richardson since 1985. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from Texas Tech University in 1981, followed by his Doctor of Dental Science degree from Baylor University in 1985. Dr. Denny has organized and participated in twelve dental foreign mission trips to Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil and Romania. Professional associations include: Dallas County Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
